If location is important to you, The SwansDoors is your ideal accommodation. This elegant 4-star apartment is part of the old city walls and the Perriere Gate, the main entrance to the city in the Middle Ages. Its perfect sound and heat insulation will guarantee you a comfortable stay.

The apartment is located in Perriere Street, parallel to the main canal, and a few steps from the famous Island Palace. Here you will find picturesque waterside restaurants, shops and numerous bridges over the canal and waterways. From the living room window, you can even see the Pont Perrière, which crosses the Thious Canal.

What more could you want? How about an ice cream? The apartment is located above the city's most famous ice cream parlour, the Glacier des Alpes, which offers an impressive variety of flavours.
During your stay at SwansDoors, you won't need a car. Everything from cafes, bars and restaurants to unique shops, lake beaches and bike paths are on your doorstep.
Buy delicious cheeses, chocolates and other local produce at the markets, which take place three times a week, browse through the antique shops and bookshops and explore the art galleries or the cobbled streets and canals that criss-cross the Venice of the Alps. Also, don't miss the popular flea market on the last Saturday of the month.
Annecy is only four hours from Paris by train, and less than 30 minutes from Geneva airport. This makes it an ideal destination for a short break. However, if you have the opportunity, take time to explore the lakeside villages and surrounding mountains.

This tastefully renovated second floor apartment comfortably sleeps six. The original décor incorporates natural wood and perfectly combines the contemporary style with the character of this historic building.
The apartment has three spacious bedrooms with ample storage space. The master bedroom is a large double room with en-suite bathroom and has twin beds that can be converted into a double bed. One of the other bedrooms uses the same system, and the third bedroom has a double bed. The apartment also has a stylish shower room and a separate toilet, which is very convenient for a family or a group of friends.
The living room is open plan, with a fully equipped kitchen. The dining room and living room offer superb views of the medieval town and the Palais de l'Île, as well as the photogenic Pont Perrière.
The castle and the beautiful lake are just a minute's walk away, as is the Paquier - a large lawn ideal for an evening stroll. It is also the scene of many festivals and sporting events, as well as open-air film screenings in the summer.

About the area...
A city apartment may not be the most usual choice for a winter holiday, but Annecy's alpine location puts it at the heart of five superb ski resorts.
The intimate resort of Semnoz is just 28 minutes away, and the bus passes right by the apartment. The apartment is also just 600 metres from Annecy bus station, from where buses leave for the Aravis resorts of La Clusaz (45 minutes), Le Grand Bornand (43 minutes) and Manigod (39 minutes by car). The Aravis offers 220km of pistes for skiers of all abilities, as well as great options for cross-country skiers and snowshoe trekkers. The small resort of Sambuy Seythenex is 45 minutes away and offers sledging and tobogganing runs and exhilarating off-piste courses.
After a good day in the mountains, enjoy an evening in one of the many bars or restaurants in this medieval town. It's hard to beat après-ski!
In December, the town is decked out in magical lights and offers Christmas markets, concerts and an open-air ice rink. The weekend after Shrove Tuesday, Annecy hosts a Venetian carnival, where hundreds of masked and costumed characters parade through the cobbled streets and over the bridges, posing for photographs. It's a spectacle not to be missed.

In the summer, Annecy offers something for everyone: a romantic town steeped in history, fine dining, great shopping, water and mountain sports and picturesque villages to discover. Enjoy a coffee on the terrace while watching the passers-by, take a cruise on the lake or taste local specialties at the food market held every Sunday.
If you have a little more time and energy, enjoy a round of golf or rent bikes to ride around the 40km lake. The more energetic can tackle the mountain roads, often used by the Tour de France riders. A large bike hire shop with late opening hours is just a short walk from the apartment.
Annecy is the centre of French paragliding, and is a great option for thrill-seekers who want a whole new perspective on the city.
As autumn approaches, the town celebrates the return of the animals from the pasture (Retour des Alpages). Local produce is the star of this festival, and the streets are filled with folk groups, food stalls and cows. Don't miss the International Animation Film Festival in June, a festival that was originally part of the Cannes Film Festival, and the Lake Annecy marathon in April. Even if you don't run, it's a great spectacle and the town's atmosphere is very lively!
