Chalet Manoé

Enjoying a particularly tranquil location in a secluded spot on the edge of the beautiful Manigod Valley in Comburce, Chalet Manoe promises absolute seclusion, whatever time of year you choose to stay. This peaceful environment and the breathtaking views of the Étale, Mont Charvin, Val Sulens and La Tournette are what convinced the owners to buy this chalet.

In winter, this idyllic location sometimes requires you to equip your vehicle with snow tyres and chains, even though access to the chalet is cleared daily. Three cars can be parked in front of the property.

This south facing chalet has been completely renovated for 2020. It consists of a sunny garden, a terrace with swimming pool (mid-May to mid-September), jacuzzi and bubble sauna. In summer, hikers and cyclists will appreciate its privileged location to explore the mountains. With light pollution close to zero, the opportunities for stargazing are endless, and the sky is gigantic.

The chalet's surroundings are so peaceful that it is hard to believe that you are only 4km from the village of Manigod, where you will find a bakery, restaurants and a concept café. Geneva airport is only an hour away.
The property

The traditional look of this beautiful chalet actually hides a sleek and stylish interior. It is the perfect accommodation for a serene and stress-free mountain holiday.

The accommodation is spread over four levels and can sleep up to 12 people (maximum eight adults). It consists of three double bedrooms and a magical children's room, equipped with two sets of bunk and trundle beds.

In the laundry room on the garden level, accessible from the parking lot, you will find a ski room with a heated boot rack for 12 pairs of skis. The children's bedroom is located on this level, as is the bathroom with a free-standing bathtub, double washbasin and separate toilet. On the upper, ground floor are the three double bedrooms - one with an en-suite shower room - and a stylish family bathroom with a beautiful new double shower cubicle. Each bedroom has bedside tables with lamps and USB ports for charging your phone for example, and you can adjust the heating independently to suit your taste with the thermostat.

The main living space is on the second level. You will find a large open plan room with a sleek kitchen, table and chair and comfortable leather sofas arranged around the impressive open fireplace. With underfloor heating, you'll enjoy coming back each evening to relax in a cozy, comfortable home. There is another living room in the mezzanine in the attic area, with a flat screen TV. Teenagers will especially like this place where they can meet without the adults.

On either side of the fireplace, doors open onto the balcony. This is the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful views. In the winter, you'll love sharing time with family and friends in the cozy living room.
Hit the slopes while avoiding the queues, crowds and waiting in the resort!

When you stay at Chalet Manoe, you'll feel like you're thousands of miles away from the hustle and bustle of the big winter sports resorts.

Within a few minutes drive you can reach the slopes of Croix Fry and La Clusaz. The large car parks at the Col de La Croix Fry and Col de Merdassier are free. From there you can ski the whole Aravis area: a total of 220 km of slopes connected to each other, or linked by shuttles.

Cross-country skiers will be happy on the Beauregard plateau, and non-skiers will be spoilt for choice to occupy their days: sledging, snowshoeing or dog-sledding, not to mention the heated outdoor and indoor swimming pools in La Clusaz where you can splash around in the open air against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains...

Back at the chalet, the sauna will provide you with some well-deserved relaxation time!

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy the calm of Chalet Manoé.

From the garden, or perhaps in the water of the swimming pool, you will hear nothing but the singing of the birds and the clarines of the cows in the mountain pastures. If you are looking for adventure, there are many activities to choose from in the area.

Don't forget to pack a picnic lunch before setting out on the hiking trails that criss-cross the Aravis! You can also take the gondolas to the top of the mountain (with or without your mountain bike), before heading back down to the valley at your own pace.

Adrenaline junkies can test their limits with paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or rafting, just a few kilometres from the chalet.

For a family outdoor activity, head for the Adventure Park of Thônes or Talloires! On different courses, you will taste the thrill of climbing to the top of the trees, while benefiting from the supervision and safety advice of professional guides.

You can also take it to the next level by trying the Via Ferrata: a cross between hiking and climbing, where even children can explore the mountains with confidence. Thanks to the cables, ladders and bridges fixed to the side of the mountain, everyone can progress at their own pace, in optimum safety conditions.

In the evening, enjoy a delicious barbecue before watching the sunset, face to face with nature.

Chalet Manoe is just a short drive from the charming Savoyard village of Manigod and the more famous resort of La Clusaz.

Here you will find restaurants, bars, shops and weekly markets, as well as tourist offices ready to inform you about events and activities in the area.

The pretty town of Thônes has supermarkets to stock up on supplies and Annecy is only 20 minutes away - a trip not to be missed! On the shores of Europe's purest lake, this splendid medieval town will charm you along its canals and cobbled streets. Shops, museums, terraces, starred restaurants... not to mention all the water sports to discover and practice on the lake, unless you prefer to bask in the sun on one of its beaches isolated from tourists.

IMPORTANT - When the roads are snowed in, it will be impossible to get to the chalet without a 4x4 vehicle equipped with snow tires or chains. If you request it in advance (and with sufficient notice), we can provide a 4x4 vehicle to take you to the chalet. This car will be parked in the covered car park of the school complex in the centre of the village. This vehicle is only insured for the journey from the village centre to Chalet Manoé. Please note that this vehicle is automatic and has a right-hand drive. The swimming pool is available from mid-May to mid-September.
